Welcome. I'm Lynda Appell and this is my disability information. My purpose is to include empowering, informative sites. Links are for disabilities information purposes only. Jerry and I are active in our local Community Support Program. CSPs help disabled people live as independently in the local community by helping to access needed services. We're also involved in Artists for Recovery. AFR is a encourages creativity and support for people who are dual diagnosed.

Exhibiting my art in various group disabled artists shows since the 1980s. These include shows in the greater Phila.PA area, Johnstown PA, Orlando FL, Cincinnatti OH., Orlando FL, NYC. New School. Won several awards for my creativity and even better sold some works for several hundred dollars. Future artshows in the works. Studied at Phila. College of Art, Tyler. Month of Feb. I am part of a disabled artist show at the 138 Gallery at 138 W 15th st. NYC, NY. I am very proud of this.

Some years ago a medical geneticist diagnosed, told me I was born with Waardenburg syndrome. I inherited from my father.. WS is a leading cause of genetic congenital deafness disability. Because of Waardenburg my left eye is blue/hazel. Right eye blue. Dad isn't deaf. Retired musician.

Mom has a male cousin with Tourettes. TS a major tic disability. Varying degrees of severity. TS is closely related to obsessive-compulsive disability. Being treated with medication for this disorder by a very understanding mental health professional. Hope I don't get obsessed with this site. :).lol. My slightly older sister is a successful saleswoman who's clients include several classical and New Age record labels. My women friends and I are into disability rights, peace, feminism, the environment, spiritualities, tolerance,Sci-Fi,cats and dogs.
